RingCentral integrations: CRM, API, Chrome extension & more

RingCentral integrations

RingCentral offers more than 500 phone system integrations through its dedicated App Gallery. You can use App Connect to embed web dialers in CRMs, productivity apps, and more. If native integrations aren’t enough, create custom connectors via SDKs or its REST API.

Just keep in mind this might cost extra — RingCentral’s pricing gets expensive for “advanced” integrations. Prepare to upgrade to the Advanced plan for CRM and automation integrations. And if you do upgrade, be aware there are still some blind spots it doesn’t support.

This article explains RingCentral’s major integrations, including what it covers and what’s missing. You’ll also see how Quo’s integrations close the gap for small and fast-growing teams.

RingCentral integrations at a glance

RingCentral supports CRM integrations and offers productivity, collaboration, and automation tools. Here’s a breakdown of its major integrations:

In the following sections, we’ll cover each integration in detail so you have full context on what you can do with it.

RingCentral CRM integrations

Business phones that don’t connect to customer relationship management, or CRM, tools add manual work for your team. They force sales and support reps to log customer interactions across multiple platforms. This creates unnecessary confusion, which leads to inefficient communication and poor customer satisfaction.

But you can use CRM phone integrations to automatically log phone calls, sync data, and click-to-call contacts from your browser. This allows you to track deals and customer conversations without switching platforms and hoping for the best.

RingCentral’s customer relationship management integrations are available on the Advanced plan, starting at $25 per user per month.

Here’s a closer look at the most popular integrations, their features, and their drawbacks.

Salesforce

RingCentral integrations: RingCentral Salesforce integration

RingCentral for Salesforce connects your phone, messaging, and video tools directly to your Salesforce dashboard. That way, your team can stay organized without having to switch between windows.

Here are key features of the Salesforce integration:

  • Click-to-dial. Reps can start calls directly from a Salesforce record, rather than copying numbers into a separate dialer.
  • Automatic call logging. Capture call details and sync them in Salesforce, which can cut down on manual entry and keep records current.
  • Embedded calling. Make and receive calls inside the Salesforce interface. That way, you can handle customer communication from inside your CRM.

Note that you can’t sync RingCentral call summaries with your Salesforce account. You can only sync your call activity and your call notes. If you want to add RingCentral summaries for each call, you’ll have to manually copy and paste them in yourself.

Keep in mind, users have reported that the integration can be buggy and needs to be reconnected often.

“The Salesforce integration is very buggy. I spend a lot of time troubleshooting issues the team is having – they get disconnected often and are constantly having to log out/in, clear cache, and other things to fix the connection.” RingCentral user on G2

HubSpot

RingCentral integrations: RingCentral HubSpot integration

RingCentral’s HubSpot integration connects your calling, messaging, and event tools directly to HubSpot. This ensures you can keep your sales, marketing, and support teams on the same page.

Here are key features of the integration:

  • Click-to-call and text. Reps can make calls and send text messages straight from a HubSpot record. This can save time and prevent misdials.
  • Automatic activity logging. Capture calls, messages, and event interactions from calls and sync them in HubSpot. You can also use this to automatically update deal stages or add notes when they complete tasks like filling out forms.
  • Embedded communications. Place or answer calls from inside the HubSpot interface. Keep in mind it only supports voice calls, not video calls.
  • Event management. Sync event registrations from HubSpot to RingCentral Events with auto-generated invites. This lets you send attendee and engagement data to HubSpot to create personalized follow-ups and campaigns.

One drawback with the HubSpot integration: mobile call logging can be inconsistent. According to HubSpot users, it works well for desktop and browser calls, but not for mobile app calls. If your team takes calls in the field, this could affect call tracking over time.

Pipedrive

RingCentral integrations: RingCentral Pipedrive integration

Pipedrive for RingCentral connects your calling, messaging, and voicemail tools directly to Pipedrive. Similar to the Salesforce and HubSpot integrations, you can manage all your customer interactions without toggling between dashboards.

Here are the key features of the integration:

  • Click-to-call and text. Reps can place calls and send SMS messages straight from any phone number in a Pipedrive record via a hover tooltip. This can save time and speed up outreach.
  • Automatic activity logging. Sync your call history, SMS, and voicemail logs to Pipedrive automatically or manually. You can add them to existing contacts, deals, and activities.
  • Embedded communications. Make and receive calls in the same place you deal with customer data.
  • 360° customer view. Instantly display caller information on incoming and outgoing calls via screen pop-ups. That way, reps are always prepared for personalized interactions.

The biggest issue with RingCentral’s Pipedrive integration is connectivity. Users must regularly uninstall and reinstall the app to continue syncing. Even then, it may disconnect randomly, which puts your CRM hygiene at risk.

Also, you can’t sync RingCentral call summaries to your Pipedrive account. You can sync call activity and call notes automatically. But if you want to capture summaries, you’ll have to manually copy them over from RingCentral to each contact.

RingCentral team collaboration integrations

Tired of having to give your colleagues the same customer update repeatedly? With team collaboration integrations, your team stays in sync. Plus, they help you communicate with customers more efficiently.

Get access to these integrations when you sign up for RingCentral’s base plan, starting at $20 per user per month. You don’t need to upgrade to a higher tier to take advantage of them.

Microsoft Teams

RingCentral integrations: RingCentral Microsoft Teams integration

RingCentral’s Microsoft Teams integration embeds your RingCentral phone system into Teams. Your team can call, text, and fax with RingCentral directly from the Microsoft Teams app.

You also get features like:

  • One number that works on every device. Get phone, SMS, and fax on a single number. This works in Teams, and it’s compatible with desk phones and mobile phones.
  • Business SMS and electronic fax. Set up team messaging and text customers from inside Teams without using your personal number. You can also send and receive faxes online without a physical fax machine.
  • Embedded calling with robust controls. Access contacts and calling features directly inside Teams. You can also search contacts from both the Microsoft and RingCentral directories in one place.
  • Presence sync and unified contact search. Automatically sync your reps’ availability status between Teams and RingCentral across all devices. You can see who’s online, who’s on calls, and who’s out for the day.

Slack

RingCentral integrations: RingCentral Slack integration

RingCentral for Slack connects your calling and video meeting tools directly to Slack. Your team can start RingCentral calls inside your Slack workspace. All conversations are tracked as they happen, so your team can get real-time visibility into customer updates.

Key features of RingCentral’s Slack integration include:

  • Click-to-call and meet. Start a RingCentral video meeting or place a call directly from Slack’s native call icon.
  • Slash commands. Use simple commands like “/RingCentral [call, meet, help]” to launch a video meeting or audio conference. Or you can dial a specific number from Slack’s text box.
  • Streamlined collaboration. Reduce context switching by launching calls and meetings from inside Slack. That way, your reps can go from chatting to live conversations, which helps keep projects moving.

RingCentral’s Slack integration works across multiple RingCentral tools. It’s compatible with RingCentral Video and RingCentral Meetings. It’s also available to all RingCentral Office customers with an active Slack account.

Google Workspace

RingCentral integrations: RingCentral Google Workspace integration

RingCentral for Google Workspace connects calling, messaging, and meeting tools with Google tools. You can make calls, schedule meetings, and follow up with contacts in your Google calendar, email, and cloud storage apps.

Here are key features of RingCentral’s Google Workspace integration:

  • Click-to-call and text. Make outbound calls and send text messages straight from your email conversation. This saves time and lets you respond quickly to customers with full context from your inbox.
  • Contextual communication history. Check contact details, documents, and availability directly in Gmail or Google Drive. You can also view recent call history from your inbox. That way, you get the full picture of any customer before making calls or sending texts.
  • Embedded communications. Access calling, texting, and contact cards directly from the Google Workspace Add-ons bar. This is accessible on any device. With this add-on, customer conversations can happen alongside your email and calendar.
  • Meeting scheduling. Schedule and configure RingCentral Video meetings from the Google Calendar sidebar. You can also set meeting options like passwords and waiting rooms, and join calls directly from Google Calendar.

RingCentral Chrome extension

RingCentral integrations: RingCentral Google Chrome extension

RingCentral offers a Google Chrome extension that lets you click-to-dial on any web page. Hover over a phone number in your browser, then click to initiate a call through your RingCentral account. You can do this on CRM records, LinkedIn profiles, support tickets, and more.

RingCentral’s Chrome extension helps you make calls without opening the RingCentral app. It automatically takes notes on your calls and generates instant summaries.

That said, RingCentral’s Google Chrome extension is mostly just a click-to-dial tool. It’s not a full softphone for call routing, analytics, or team settings. Plus, users report the extension can be slow to load. It may require frequent re-authentication. Other reviews say it occasionally fails to detect phone numbers on dynamically loaded pages.

The app also tends to break after monthly Google updates, as you can see from the review below:

“Terrible extension. Literally stops working multiple times a month. Tech support offers Zero help with any troubleshooting. I do not recommend for any potential business users. It’s not worth the headache of constant issues.” Chrome Webstore

RingCentral productivity integrations

RingCentral can connect to thousands more apps via Zapier and Make. You need at least RingCentral’s Advanced plan, starting at $25 per user per month.

RingCentral integrations: RingCentral Zapier integration

The Zapier integration supports triggers like:

  • New call
  • Make call
  • New SMS
  • New voicemail
  • Send SMS

This opens the door to code-free workflow automations. For example, you could log calls to Google Sheets, create CRM records from missed calls, or send Slack alerts for specific caller IDs.

The other option is Make, which offers similar workflow automations to Zapier. It also provides a slightly more visual builder. RingCentral’s Make module covers calling, SMS, and voicemail triggers. It’s best  for teams that need to build complex or multi-step workflows.

RingCentral API

For more customization over your integrations, you can make use of RingCentral’s API.

This is a full REST API that covers voice, SMS, fax, meetings, and account management. That way, you can integrate apps you already own with capabilities for:

  • Programmatic call management
  • SMS sending and receiving via API
  • Call log retrieval
  • Webhook subscriptions for real-time events
  • User management
  • Analytics access

RingCentral’s API has extensive documentation, but it isn’t all consistent. You’ll find developer docs for most endpoints, but reviews say they vary in quality and recency. Some sections are well-maintained, while others reference deprecated features. Still others lack working code examples. This can be frustrating for fast-growing teams that don’t have time for trial and error.

Speaking of trial and error: RingCentral’s API can be hard to set up if you don’t have technical expertise. Even if you do have the knowledge, be prepared for drawbacks like rate limits. This can be restrictive for high-volume operations that need to make hundreds of requests at once.

And keep in mind, these requests aren’t always that timely. Users report RingCentral’s real-time data access through APIs — like call metrics and activity data — can lag by 15+ minutes.

See for yourself:

“Trying to use API to generate message store report. It’s horrendously slow. I’ve got a small business with 4 extensions, and we’re not a call center or anything, so low volume… These archives seem to take at least 30 minutes to generate! I’ve gone through 2 so far. The 3rd one is on 1 hour and 30 minutes and still “InProgress”. What’s weird is that the date periods I’m asking for are low volume. I’m terrified to see how long it will take when I get to a dataset that has more volume.”Reddit

What’s missing from RingCentral’s integrations

You may have noticed RingCentral is missing a key feature compared to alternatives: Model Context Protocol, or MCP.

MCP is a protocol that lets AI agents interact directly with business tools. For a phone system, this might be reading call data, sending messages, or taking actions like pulling call histories.

Without an MCP integration, you can’t connect RingCentral to tools like Claude and ChatGPT. That means they can’t access call data or analyze it for you. There’s no way to check analytics or perform sentiment analysis outside RingCentral’s platform. You’re forced to review all calls manually, which can slow you down compared to competitors. Many of them are already using AI tools to speed up workflows, like scanning call recordings to offer personalized coaching to reps.

To summarize: RingCentral’s integration model was built for the app-to-app era, not necessarily the AI agent era.

How Quo’s integrations compare

Quo and RingCentral share similar integrations for business communications. That said, a few key differences stand out.

Here’s what makes Quo the best RingCentral alternative for integrations:

1. Claude and ChatGPT integrations

RingCentral integrations: Quo Claude integration

You can connect all your Quo call and text data with AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT. This is the biggest differentiator between Quo and RingCentral — since RingCentral doesn’t offer this at all.

Here’s everything you can do with Quo’s AI integrations:

  • Summarize conversations. Claude and ChatGPT can pull your Quo conversation and help you surface recurring trends and opportunities. Provide detailed coaching feedback to your reps in minutes.
  • Text one contact or multiple customers. Ask AI to text without opening your workspace. You can send bulk replies to leads who you haven’t followed up with yet.
  • Check messages and inboxes. Ask Claude and ChatGPT to show you message history for specific contacts. You can also ask them to highlight new messages for an individual number at a time.
  • Look up, add, or update contacts. Search your contact list without logging into your admin dashboard. You can then update contact information automatically, saving you time and letting you focus on more important tasks.
  • Fetch missed calls. Get details about missed calls to your Quo numbers. If they left a voicemail, you can review voicemail transcripts directly in your chat.

One customer writes:

“Quo already makes it possible to keep up with the higher volume of customer interactions that comes with growth, and is now delivering invaluable insights in seconds, complete with real quotes from actual customer conversations. That is gold.” — Jacques Bastien, Co-Founder, Chery Maids

2. Dedicated contractor platform integrations

RingCentral integrations: Quo Jobber integration

Quo integrates directly with home service platforms like Jobber and DripJobs. RingCentral  doesn’t support them at all. You have to set up a third-party connection to tools like Jobber through Zapier or Make. This is less efficient than Quo’s native integrations.

For example, with Quo’s Jobber integration, you can:

  • Automatically create requests and clients in Jobber
  • Sync AI-generated call transcripts and summaries
  • Click-to-call from Jobber using any Quo phone number

This makes Quo a better fit than RingCentral for fast-growing home service and contractor businesses.

“We rely on both Jobber and Quo to keep our operations running smoothly. Having call summaries from Quo automatically show up in Jobber has been a game-changer — our whole team has context without needing to chase down notes. It saves me multiple steps, which gives me time back to be able to focus on our customers.” — Lou Ruiz, GM for Pink’s Windows Four Points in Lakeway, TX.

3. Easy to set up and use

Quo makes it easy for teams to start using integrations within 15 minutes. Set up a free trial, visit our integration directory, then connect with the tools you’re already using.

Our integrations come highly recommended as seamless solutions for growing teams:

“Quo is by far the best business phone solution I’ve used. Besides the simple UI, it seamlessly integrates with other tools that my business uses (Zapier, HubSpot, etc.) and lets the entire team have visibility into conversations with contacts. Definitely recommend!” — Meghan Saraf, Growth Marketing Manager, Motion

Plus, thousands of users say Quo is more user-friendly than RingCentral’s legacy VoIP interface.

FAQs

How do you set up integrations in RingCentral?

You can set up integrations in RingCentral by:
1. Signing in to the RingCentral App Gallery.
2. Selecting the app you wish to integrate with.
3. Downloading and installing the integration with RingEX.

RingCentral integrations vs Zoom integrations: Which is better?

Both RingCentral and Zoom provide app marketplaces and CRM connectors. RingCentral focuses on phone integrations, while Zoom focuses on video meeting apps. The “best” set of integrations depends on the types of connectors you need and what you’re willing to pay to unlock them.

How do you troubleshoot RingCentral integration issues?

You can fix RingCentral integration issues by:
• Checking if the integration is supported on your plan. For example, CRM and automation connectors require the Advanced tier or higher.
• Re-authenticating the connections. This eliminates expired tokens as a cause.
• Check field mapping and number assignments. This is a common cause of CRM logging issues.
You’ll likely need RingCentral support or a developer if you have persistent API or account sync issues.
