Rosie AI pricing, plans, & hidden fees

Rosie AI pricing

You can use Rosie AI to answer calls 24/7 and qualify leads automatically — starting at $41 per month. But is this a reasonable price for what you get?

Factor in the hidden fees, overage requirements, and missing features, and it might not be cost-effective for your business.

This guide covers Rosie AI’s pricing, its features, limitations, hidden fees, and paid add-ons. We also compare it with several Rosie AI alternatives that offer more at a better price.

Rosie AI pricing and plans at a glance: What you get and what you’re missing

Rosie AI pricing

Rosie AI is an answering service for small businesses that answers incoming calls 24/7. It also offers a one-click Shopify integration, which is useful for ecommerce brands.

But when you dig more deeply into its pricing and features, you’ll see that Rosie AI may not be the right fit for small or growing businesses. After the seven-day free trial, you’ll face high fees for features that are standard with other AI voice agents.

Let’s break down what you get on each plan.

Professional plan

Pricing: $49 per month billed monthly, or $41 per month if billed annually

Best for: Taking a few calls after hours per month

Rosie’s base plan comes with the basics. It can answer FAQs, filter spam calls, and be available to customers 24/7.

Here are the features you can expect:

  • 250 minutes of calls per month for calls handled by Rosie; that’s approximately four hours, or 80 five-minute calls each month
  • Custom message taking
  • The ability to send appointment links by text
  • Automatic spam detection to identify unwanted calls
  • The ability to connect with customers online via Rosie’s website chat widget
  • Bilingual support with English/Spanish
  • AI phone call summaries, transcripts, and recordings
  • Zapier integration to connect with CRMs like Salesforce and HubSpot

That said, you’ll notice several key features are missing from this plan, including warm call transfers and customer texting. The only way to get them is to upgrade. But as you might imagine, this comes with a steep cost increase.

You should also know Rosie AI doesn’t offer overage fees. Meaning even if you go just five minutes over your monthly limit, you’ll be automatically upgraded to the Scale plan  which costs almost three times more.

Scale plan

Pricing: $149 per month billed monthly, or $124 per month if billed annually

Best for: Automatically answering around 30 minutes of calls per day

If you expect a more frequent stream of calls, the Scale plan can support roughly 16 hours of calls per month. This is a 4x increase from the Professional plan’s minutes. It’s also a 3x increase in pricing — up from $41 to $124 per month paid annually.

Besides getting more minutes, you unlock the following features:

  • Warm transfers so Rosie can brief a team member before connecting the caller
  • Appointment booking directly on your calendar via Calendly, Acuity, Appointlet, and Google Calendar
  • Custom message-taking, with up to five scenarios
  • Live call transfers so reps can instantly connect with callers when needed
  • The ability to text callers while they’re on the call, such as sharing a Google Maps address

Keep in mind you’ll still miss out on features like waterfall transfers and custom training documents. Without waterfall transfers, you can’t ring available reps in order until someone picks up. Also, without custom training, it may be harder to train your AI agent properly.

Growth plan

Pricing: $299 per month billed monthly, or $249 per month if billed annually

Best for: Handling over one hour of calls per day

The Growth plan is Rosie’s enterprise plan. This gives you over 2,000 minutes, or 33 hours, of calls per month through its AI voice agent. You also get features like:

  • Custom message taking with unlimited scenarios
  • The ability to ring multiple numbers in a row until someone answers with waterfall transfers
  • The ability to upload custom training docs and policies for custom agent training
  • White-glove onboarding
  • Priority support via email and chat

But no matter how much you upgrade, Rosie doesn’t offer any business phone system tools. Other AI phone answering services — including Quo and its AI agent, Sona — come with calling features on every plan.

Rosie AI’s true cost: Paid add-ons and hidden fees to know

signing up for Rosie AI

Rosie’s advertised plan costs are only one part of your monthly bill.

You should also make room in your budget for:

  • Per-minute allowances. Each Rosie plan bills per minute, not per call. That means longer calls can quickly eat up your allowance, forcing you to pay more than you would with a per-call answering service. Let’s say you get 10 longer calls in a week, each lasting about 15 minutes. With Rosie AI’s base plan, this would eat up 60% of your allotted minutes.
  • Automatic plan upgrades. Each Rosie plan comes with a monthly allowance of 250, 1,000, or 2,000 minutes. If you exceed your plan’s allowance, Rosie will automatically upgrade you to a higher plan to cover the additional usage. You’ll stay on this plan for future billing unless you manually downgrade. Need more than 2,000 minutes? You’ll need to contact sales for a custom plan.
  • Call billing rounds up. Rosie calculates billing in 60-second increments, which means it rounds calls up to the next full minute. For example, a call lasting a minute and 13 seconds would count as two minutes toward your monthly allowance. This can get expensive fast.
  • Website texting. Want your website visitors to have AI-powered text conversations with Rosie? You’ll need to purchase the website texting add-on first, which costs $50 per month. But keep in mind this add-on only includes 25 conversations per month. After that, you’ll pay $1 for each additional conversation. This won’t scale well for small and growing businesses.
  • Setup and activation fees. Rosie’s terms state that you may pay fees for “additional options, initial setup, or activation, as applicable.” Unfortunately, Rosie doesn’t list the cost of these potential fees in its Terms of Service. The only way to find out is to either sign up or contact their sales team.

4 Key things to keep in mind before choosing Rosie AI

Rosie AI setup guide

Beyond its expensive monthly costs, Rosie AI has several other drawbacks:

1. No phone system of its own

Rosie AI is an AI answering service — not a standalone business phone system that lets you call and text customers. You’ll need to forward calls from an existing VoIP platform so that Rosie can answer them. That means:

  • You’ll need to purchase a separate platform for regular business calls and texts. This means paying more each month.
  • Your AI-handled calls and regular business calls will live in different tools. That means following up with your customers will be more time-consuming.

2. Rosie only supports US phone numbers

At the time of writing, Rosie only supports US phone numbers.

If you want to expand to Canada, for example, you’ll have to overhaul your entire system. You’ll need another phone service to give Canadian customers a local number. If your current business phone system doesn’t support this, you’ll either need to switch or settle for costly international fees. Tools you invest in should encourage you to scale, not hold you back.

3. You’ll need to upgrade for call transfers

With Rosie, you can’t transfer live calls from your AI voice agent to your reps without purchasing the Scale plan. This costs $149 per month compared to the base plan at $49 per month. This is a 300% price increase for a single feature — which may not be worth the cost for most small businesses.

4. Call recordings are only stored for 30 days

Want to store past conversations for legal, compliance, or quality assurance reasons? This isn’t possible with Rosie AI. According to its FAQs, all past recordings are deleted after just 30 days.

If you want to keep your recordings for longer, you’ll have to manually download them from your admin dashboard.

Rosie AI seems cost-effective at first. But the prices add up when you look at the full breakdown.

If you’re looking for a reliable, collaborative, and easy-to-manage business phone system, try Quo. All you need is a smartphone or a computer and an internet connection to make and receive unlimited calls in the US and Canada. Plus, you don’t have to forward calls from a separate platform. Quo is the phone system, not an add-on to one.

Quo also comes with Sona, an AI voice agent built directly into the same system. Every plan includes 10 free Sona calls a month, and additional calls are billed per call, not per minute. That keeps your costs predictable and means a longer conversation doesn’t quietly eat into your allowance the way it does with Rosie.

Sona answers FAQs, captures leads, and can transfer callers to your team. Every call it handles is logged alongside your regular calls and texts in one place. No switching between two dashboards to piece together what happened on a call.

FAQs

What are the best Rosie AI alternatives?

The best Rosie AI alternatives are:
– Quo. Pricing starts at $15 per user per month and offers unlimited calls and texts in the US and Canada. For the AI voice agent, you get unlimited minutes on 10 free calls per month. Overage fees cost $1 per extra call. You’ll also have access to modern features like CRM integrations and text messaging.
– Smith.ai. Pricing is free for 25 calls per month, plus $3 per call for its AI-first plans. If you need more than that, Smith.ai pricing jumps to $150 per month to support around 75 calls. Want humans to pick up the phone? Pricing starts at $300 per month for 30 calls, and scales to $2,100 per month to manage 300 calls.
– Goodcall. Pricing starts at $66 per AI agent per month for 100 unique monthly customers. Each additional customer after 100 costs $0.50. This is more effective than Rosie AI’s per-minute pricing if you expect longer calls, like in the legal field.
– RingCentral AI Receptionist. Pricing starts at $39 per month, not including the cost of its business phone system. In return, you get a full business phone platform along with an AI voice agent.
– Dialzara. Pricing starts at $29 per month for up to 60 minutes of talk time, plus blind, aka cold, transfers and third-party integrations. Overage rates start at $0.48 per minute. It’s slightly less expensive than Rosie AI and won’t force you to upgrade your plan.

Does Rosie AI offer a free trial?

Yes, Rosie AI offers a seven-day free trial that lets you access all features with “no credit card required.” That said, you’ll have to enter your card for Rosie to start accepting live calls. If you don’t cancel within the seven-day window, you’ll be charged anywhere from $49 to $299 per month, depending on the plan you select.

What are the pros and cons of Rosie AI?

You can use Rosie AI to help with after-hours call management, lead capture, and spam filtering so reps only speak to humans. It also trains on your business in minutes using your Google Business Profile. But keep in mind you’ll need to upgrade for features like call routing and warm transfers. And if you go over your allotted overage rate, you’ll be automatically upgraded to a more expensive plan.
