Why I joined Quo

I’m incredibly excited to be joining Quo. I love being part of growing companies, and Quo reminds me of some earlier moments in my career where you could just feel it in the air that a company was right on the verge of something really, really special.

I grew up in a small blue-collar town outside Pittsburgh and was the only one in my family to leave my hometown. I came out west to play tennis at Santa Clara and ended up building my life and career in the Bay Area.

Because of where I grew up, I’ve always had a lot of respect for small businesses. They’re the backbone of communities like mine (and really every community, large or small). Helping them generate more revenue, make better decisions with better data, and ultimately serve their own customers better through technology is something I care a lot about.

I’m very family-focused. I have three kids ages 4 to 8, recently got engaged, and try to balance being intense about work with being really present with my family. My fiancée also leads a sales organization, so we both love the craft of building teams and businesses.

So I was already biased toward joining Quo. But then I spent quite a bit of time with Daryna understanding her leadership style and the long-term vision that she and Mahyar share. During these meetings, I tried to really assess where things are today and what they could look like in 6 months and 2+ years.

What stood out most was the momentum. Quo is growing rapidly, and impressively doing so without a huge boost from the sales side of the house yet.

Overall, I’m just so energized about the opportunity here, and I truly can’t wait to get started and look back on where we’ve gotten six months, one year, and many years from now.
